The Central Bank of The Bahamas wishes to advise that while Bahamas Banknotes are some of the most secure banknotes in the world, counterfeiters continue in their attempts to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
It is, therefore, important that all cash handlers, whether merchant or consumer, pay special attention to the security features of genuine banknotes.
Here are a few things to look for to reduce the likelihood of accepting a counterfeit banknote:
