The Central Bank of The Bahamas Launches The Bahamas' e-GDDS Portal
Published: Friday December 21st, 2018
The Central Bank is pleased to announce that it has launched the Bahamas' official e-GDDS portal. This website, which represents the results of a collaboration between various statistical agencies, allows members of the public to obtain key reports and data on the economy from one location. In addition, various international agencies can now access standardized data directly using the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) software tool, thereby improving data transparency and governance.
With the launch of this portal, The Bahamas joins a list of over 40 countries who have provided key economic and financial information in this enhanced format. This initiative was spearheaded by the Statistical Information Management Division of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which provided the technical support to the local statistical agencies.
The Central Bank thanks the IMF for their assistance with this project and looks forward to their continued cooperation, as we endeavour to provide the public with high quality and timely economic information on The Bahamas.
