Central Bank Executive Professionals Programme (EP) & Central Bank Apprentice Programme (AP)
Published: Friday October 9th, 2020
In October 2019, Central Bank of The Bahamas launched two development programmes, the Central Bank Executive Professionals Programme and the Central Bank Apprentice Programme. The Programmes are designed to attract highly educated and talented university graduates seeking a fulfilling career in central banking, public policy or financial regulation. Each year, the Central Bank selects a small number of university graduates, with moderate or no work experience, who have the potential to be integrated into respective technical and mid-management level positions within the Bank. Participants will initially serve as interns and rotate through key departments of the Central Bank to obtain a broad understanding of the institution and its functions. At the end of the development period, if successful, these individuals will be eligible for permanent positions within the key operations or policy units of the Bank.
Executive Professionals Programme is for a duration of three years. Executive Professional (EP) candidates are expected to have qualifications and experience up to the Master’s degree level, in at least one of the following disciplines: Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Banking, Finance, Law, Public Policy, and Information Technology. Regardless of degree specialization, candidates must have pursued courses that exposed them to rigorous quantitative and statistical methods at the graduate level, and at least undergraduate exposure to economic principles.
The Apprentice Programme (AP) is a two-year training and developmental programme for successful applicants who would have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in one of the qualifying disciplines: Accounting, Banking, Economics, Finance, Information Technology/Security, Law, Public Policy, Mathematics, and Statistics.
Details of both highly competitive Programmes and eligibility requirements are listed on our website and social media platforms. The selectees are taken through a preliminary screening panel, with high ranking candidates advancing to the final interview selection.
The Central Bank of The Bahamas is pleased to have the development programmes offered to such outstanding scholars.
